In November, more than 80,000 residents in Flint and Genesee County, about 20% of our community’s population, could lose access to SNAP benefits due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.

Local food pantries and community organizations are already seeing record-high demand and are working tirelessly to keep shelves stocked and families fed. The need is great, but so is the power of our community to come together in support.

If you need food or know someone in need, there is help. Find food today using the Food Bank’s pantry locater or by calling 2-1-1 for nearby pantry locations.

Double Up Food Bucks allows SNAP participants to double their dollars when purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables at participating sites across Flint and Genesee County, making healthy food more affordable for families.

Here’s how you can help:

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint is closely monitoring the situation and its impact on the people of Flint and Genesee County and on the nonprofit partners who serve them every day.

Together, we can help ensure that every family in our community has access to the food and support they need.
