Community Foundation of Greater Flint Scholarship Program
The online application will reopen in December 2025. The majority of our scholarships use an online application that allows you to submit one application for all of the scholarships for which you are eligible. Note that some scholarships have a different application process. View the list of scholarships offered and how to apply.
When the application reopens, follow the steps below. Once you apply, your application will be reviewed by an advisory committee. Most decisions are made by May and you will receive notification by email.
Online Portal Application Steps:
Step 1: Prepare to Start Your Application
- Browse the scholarship descriptions offered through the Community Foundation.
- Preview a sample copy of the scholarship application.
- Watch a tutorial video and read articles here to help you get ready to begin the application
Step 2: Complete Your Application
- Begin the registration process and create your login credentials.
- Complete the Common Application (which determines eligibility). Note you may log in and out as needed.
- Work on the application itself (this includes your transcript, Letters of Recommendation, various questions about your activities/employment/achievements/etc., and essays)
- Complete any supplemental items that are required.
- Ask someone you trust to review your application – especially your essays – and provide feedback.
- Submit the application before the due date.
Step 3: Check Your Email
- Check your email often between the months of April and May to ensure you do not miss any updates on the status of your scholarship application(s).
