The measure of a community foundation is how well it represents and reflects the community it serves. Within Genesee County are several communities that have their own endowed community funds, but are still part of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.
When you give through the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, you can target your giving to a community fund in Clio, Davison, Fenton, Flushing or Grand Blanc. These funds bring together the thinking of local leadership to best meet community needs.
Community Foundation of Greater Flint manages the assets, while local leaders review grant proposals and recommend funding for their community’s nonprofit organizations. This keeps administrative costs low and helps community funds focus time on asset building and meeting area needs.
