Our strategic plan is grounded in a simple belief: when people are connected and communities lead, everyone can thrive. As Flint and Genesee County continues to evolve, we took time to reflect, listen, and align our work with the needs, strengths, and aspirations of the people we serve.

Updating our mission and making a small change to our vision was a foundational step in this process. These statements clarify our role, sharpen our focus, and guide the priorities and decisions outlined throughout this strategic plan. They reflect both our long-term responsibility as a community foundation and our commitment to equity, partnership, and community-led solutions.

Our Mission

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint brings people together, connecting generosity to community-led solutions that help Genesee County thrive. For good. Forever. For everyone.

What this means:

  • We bring people together. Lasting change happens through connection and collaboration.
  • Generosity fuels impact. Philanthropy includes dollars, time, talent, and trust.
  • Communities lead. "For good." The most effective solutions come from those closest to the challenges.
  • We are here for the long term. “Forever,” reflects stewardship across generations.
  • Equity matters. “For everyone,” affirms our commitment to all people in Genesee County.
