At the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, we’re proud to see our leaders grow. We celebrate Sue Peters, Vice President of Community Impact, as she steps into her next chapter as President of the Ruth Mott Foundation.

Since joining the Community Foundation in 2016, Sue has been a thoughtful and steady force for community progress. Her leadership has guided key initiatives such as the Flint Kids Fund, and she has worked alongside countless partners to listen, learn, and respond to what our residents need most.

Sue’s work has always reflected her belief in collaboration; that lasting change happens when philanthropy, nonprofits, and neighbors work together. Her new role at the Ruth Mott Foundation, a long-time and valued partner of the Community Foundation, continues with that story. Together, our organizations have shared a deep commitment to equity, neighborhood vitality, and opportunities for all who call Flint and Genesee County home.

“We’re both proud and a little sad to see Sue go,” said Dan Kildee, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. “In the words of The Beatles, ‘You say goodbye, and I say hello.’ While we’ll miss her deeply, we know she’s not going far, and we’re excited to see her continue doing meaningful work that benefits our community.”

“It has been such an honor to serve the people of Flint and Genesee County alongside the incredible team at CFGF,” said Sue Peters. “This work has shown me the power of collaboration and the generosity that defines this community. I’m grateful for every partnership, every conversation, and every opportunity to help make a difference and I look forward to continuing that shared mission with the Ruth Mott Foundation.”

As we wish Sue well in her new role, we remain inspired by her example and the many ways she’s helped advance the Community Foundation’s mission, to connect generosity to community needs, for good. For ever. For everyone.
