The Community Foundation of Greater Flint is heartbroken by the mass shooting that took place Sunday morning at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc. We extend our deepest condolences to the victims, survivors, their families, and all who are grieving in the wake of this senseless act of violence.

Places of worship are meant to be sacred spaces of peace, reflection, and connection. It is deeply saddening that this tragedy unfolded while members of our community were worshipping together.

Violence and hate have no place here, and we stand with the people of Grand Blanc as they begin to heal from this tragedy. Our community has a long history of showing up for one another, and we know that strength will guide us again as we heal.

In the days ahead, let’s support the survivors, their families, and those affected, care for our neighbors, and hold fast to the love and hope that make our community strong. The Community Foundation of Greater Flint will continue to stand alongside our partners and neighbors as we move forward together.
