Celebrating Pride Month!

The Pride Fund was established in March 2018 to advance the dignity and quality of life for the LGBTQ+ community in Genesee County. This endowed Fund is a permanent resource to nonprofit organizations providing programs and services to LGBTQ+ youth, adults, families, and seniors in areas such as health and wellness, arts and culture, housing, education, and training. Founding donors are Dale Weighill, Sandra Murphy and Sue Peters.

In recognition of the City of Flint’s first Black mayor Floyd J. McCree, Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley, along with Community Foundation leadership and McCree family members, unveiled the Floyd J. McCree bronze statue on the front lawn of Flint City Hall on Monday, April 4.

June is Pride Month, a great reason to celebrate the establishment of the Pride Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Flint (CFGF). Founders Sandra Murphy, Sue Peters, and Dale Weighill created the fund to advance the dignity and quality of life for the LGBTQ+ community.
