Registration Online for Parks Programs

Creasey Bicentennial Park is home to over 175,000 visitors each year.

Each year, employees at the Grand Blanc Parks & Recreation Department serve the needs of over 175,000 visitors who participate in activities at Creasey Bicentennial Park. In addition, the department offers programming at other locations that involves several thousand more people.

"We were one of the first departments in Michigan to offer online registration to participants," said Kae A. Eidson, Executive Director of the Grand Blanc Parks & Recreation Commission. With an aging system in need of upgrades, Eidson turned to the Grand Blanc Community Fund for support.

"We needed new software to streamline the registration process for programming, rentals, and memberships," said Eidson. "It will also assist in league and tournament scheduling, freeing up staff to allow for more creative programming."

With a $7,000 grant from the Fund, the software was purchased and is now available online at www.gbparks.com. Participants can create a profile and view community happenings on the well-organized calendar of events. Register for community education programs, adult and youth sports programs, or just check out what's being offered.

The new registration system can also book the craft and banquet rooms at the Grand Blanc Senior Center. Obtain or renew your Dog Park membership online, or book one of the fields, pavilions or gazebo at Creasey Bicentennial Park.

"The majority of programs we offer are for children," said Eidson. "This new software will immediately process registrations, allowing parents to better schedule and coordinate their children's activities, while also improving and increasing communication. The new software allows participants to know immediately if their registration has processed successfully and securely."

Thinking of gathering the family for a softball game this weekend? Check the online calendar to see if a field is available for a last-minute family outing.

"We are striving to provide the best process to our users to make their experience as positive and efficient as possible," Eidson added. "In addition, we can now track who and how we are serving our users and measure our results."
