It's more fun when you are 4-year-old and can do that on a scooter. Preschoolers enrolled in the Great Start Readiness Program at Central Elementary School are enjoying their mini-micro scooters and staying safe with helmets. A $1,178 grant from the Davison Community Fund made this possible.
Central Elementary has great playground equipment, but most cannot be used by preschoolers due to licensing age requirements. A large blacktop area next to the playground is a perfect place for the preschoolers to be active and have fun on their new scooters.
"The goal of the project is to give preschoolers a wider variety of equipment for movement time to enhance their physical development," said Susan Vamos, Early Learning Coordinator. She added that the deluxe scooters help children with traveling, balancing, and gross motor skills.
