Campers with disabilities and chronic disease now have easier access to the Frontier Cabins at Camp Copneconic. A $10,000 grant from the Florence Michelson Fund and the South Lakes Youth Initiative Program Fund supported new accessible ramps, doorways, furniture, paved walkways and improved lighting.
"Capital improvements are not the most exciting proposals to fund, but ensuring that facilities and equipment are in good working order is a necessary foundation on which good programming can be built," said Pam Bailey, Director of Fund Raising and Public Relations for the YMCA of Greater Flint. "We are grateful to the Fenton Community Fund for partnering with us to build sturdy foundations for the future."
