Legacy Society

In 1988, our founding year, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint received its first major bequest from the estate of Ivan and Dorothy MacArthur. Ivan was a successful real estate developer and he and his wife were faithful patrons of the Flint Institute of Music. Their gift is a testament to the power of endowment, and we are honored to steward their legacy, along with others who care so deeply for Flint and Genesee County.

The Legacy Society recognizes those donors who have named the Community Foundation in their estate plan or have created a life income gift to the Foundation. To be a part of the Legacy Society, all you need to do is let us know about your intention to include the Community Foundation in your will or estate plan. By letting us know, we can better carry out your charitable intentions.
