Since its inception in 1988, over 10,000 contributors ranging from modest to magnificent means have helped establish and grow over 300 charitable funds. These generous donors have enabled the Community Foundation to award more than $61 million in grants to the greater Flint area to date.
There are many reasons to invest in your community through the Community Foundation. They go beyond simply making grants that meet immediate charitable needs. The Community Foundation also identifies current and emerging issues, stimulates resources to address those needs and helps the community prepare for the future.
We help individuals, families, and businesses achieve their charitable and financial goals by providing tools and resources that make giving easy, flexible, and effective. In addition to serving donors we assist over 100 nonprofit organizations in Genesee County with endowment building efforts in order to build and strengthen their capacity to serve the community.
We combine our knowledge of organizations and programs that are making a positive difference in our community with knowledge and local expertise about community needs. We help nonprofit organizations build their capacity to effectively meet the community’s greatest challenges and best serve the common good.
Through visionary, diverse and inclusive community dialogue, we provide an ongoing forum for addressing the community’s changing needs. We bring together citizens and leaders with the ability to make a difference and help them achieve the greatest good for the entire community, now and in the future. |
