The intention of Community Challenge is to transform the way business is done in Genesee County by demonstrating the power of citizen involvement and by developing new patterns of collaborative leadership.
First initiated in 2002 by CFGF Board of Trustees as a process of encouraging a more collaborative approach to building the future of the greater Flint area, Community Challenge continues to provide citizens and leaders with opportunities to work together to make positive changes around significant community issues.
Now in the Third Phase, Community Challenge is evolving into a committed compact of engagement that reaches across many organizations and into all corners of Genesee County. The collaborative partners providing day-to-day operational leadership for the initiative are University of Michigan-Flint's University Outreach department, Resource Center, Flint Club and Community Foundation of Greater Flint.
