Fenton Community Fund

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint serves all of Genesee County—an area comprised of many communities, each with its own history and character. The Fenton Community Fund Advisory Committee works with the Community Foundation’s professional staff to grow the community permanent endowment.

In 1974, the Fenton Community Foundation was created to encourage and pave the way for individuals to leave gifts to their community. The Foundation made small grants but was unable to sustain a broad donor base. When Jack Winegarden encouraged Fenton Foundation leaders to connect with the Community Foundation, and since that time the Fenton Community Fund has grown to meet the needs of Fenton, Lake Fenton and Linden area residents.

We call it Homegrown Philanthropy, and it’s helping to secure the future for generations to come.
