NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR 2010 LIBBY AWARD
FLINT, MI – Do you admire a woman who is involved in activities that empower and provide a positive role model for women and girls in Genesee County? Has she devoted her time, talent and treasure to area nonprofit organizations that provide programs and services to educate and inspire women of all ages?

Then consider submitting a nomination for the 2010 Libby Award sponsored by the Flint Women and Girls Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. The award was created in 2000 to honor the achievements and contributions of Olivia P. “Libby” Maynard, a lifelong philanthropist and advocate for women and girls in Genesee County.

The Libby Award is presented every two years to an outstanding woman who, like Libby Maynard, demonstrates a commitment through action to:
  • Philanthropic activity on behalf of women and girls
  • Inspirational leadership by influencing and inspiring diverse groups of women or girls
  • Positive role modeling in activities specific to women and girls
  • Empowerment of women and/or assistance on their behalf
Applications are being accepted through July 30 for the 2010 Libby Award. The award will be presented during Flint Women & Girls Day set for Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 a.m. at the Sarvis Center. Nomination forms are available online at www.cfgf.org.
