A Youth Advisory Committee, YAC, is the youth grantmaking body of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint (CFGF) with a permanently endowed youth Fund. CFGF has four Youth Advisory Committees. The Clio, Grand Blanc and the South Lakes YACs all serve specific geographic locations, while the Countywide YAC serves all of Genesee County.

YACs got their start in the 1990s with community foundations when the W.K. Kellogg Foundation issues a youth challenge as part of the Michigan Community Foundations Youth Project. The Youth Advisory Committees are composed of students representing high schools located in Genesee County. We are committed to addressing and improving problems concerning young people by funding programs directed toward youth. Membership on the Youth Advisory Committees is open to any Genesee County-area student willing to commit to volunteer.
