About the Libby Award
The Flint Women and Girls fund created the prestigious Libby Award in 2000 to honor Olivia P. "Libby" Maynard, a lifelong philanthropist and advocate for women and girls in Genesee County.
The Libby Award is presented every two years to an outstanding woman who, like Libby Maynard, demonstrates a commitment through action to:

- Empowering women and girls
The first Libby Award ceremony recognized Olivia P. "Libby" Maynard for serving as a role model and a leader who continues to influence and empower diverse groups of women and girls.
In 2002, Sarah E. Warner was recognized posthumously. Sarah served as executive director of the Greater Flint Arts Council and director of development and marketing at the Flint Institute of Arts. It was her special joy to support programs that benefited women and children.
