Discretionary Grantmaking

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint awarded more than $4.6 million in grants in 2011. A majority of grantmaking comes from charitable funds that are designated by the donor for a specific organization or purpose. Another form of grantmaking, discretionary grants, are awarded from unrestricted and broad field of interest funds.
