Community Issues

The Community Foundation partners with local community leaders from the private, public and nonprofit sectors to seek innovative effective solutions to community-wide issues.

We work to better understand:

• Our community’s needs and priorities,
• Where there are opportunities for innovative solutions that build upon best practices, and
• Who has the expertise and capacity to affect real and lasting change.

We also make strategic investments of both time and grant dollars in addressing community-wide priorities. We’re proud of the work we’ve accomplished with the Flint Women and Girls Fund on the “Status of Women and Girls in Genesee County” report, as well as our convening of the Genesee County Out-of-School Youth Initiative.
