Homegrown Philanthropy
The Community Foundation of Greater Flint serves all of Genesee County, an area comprised of many communities, each with its own history and character. CFGF currently works with five communities that have established endowed funds to provide a permanent source of funding to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of these communities.
The Community Foundation's five community funds:
Clio Area Community Fund
Davison Community Fund
Fenton Community Fund
Flushing Area Community Fund
Grand Blanc Community Fund
While these communities are each unique, the five community funds are very much alike in attracting committed leaders and donors who share a common passion for the future of the place they call home.
Each community fund is led by a local advisory committee made up of community volunteers who help identify current and emerging charitable needs in their communities, provide community leadership and are involved in efforts to encourage charitable giving among residents. It is homegrown philanthropy and it is making a difference that will continue far into the future.
